New Forest Pig Pannage

Around October/November is the best time to spot pigs roaming around the New Forest. They have been put out by the ‘commoners’ to eat the green acorns and beech nuts which would otherwise be poisonous to ponies. If you are lucky mother pig will be surrounded by her piglets as they root around and snuffle up as many acorns as they can! Check out this short video:
